“I’m splitting hairs, but Gordon lightfoot is Canadian. Gordon Lightfoot is Canadian, but I’d say it’s close enough. In term of musical style it is. Have you heard Don McLean’s American Pie? Arguably the worst hit of all time, if you ask me. I know nothing about history so it seems like a dumb song. The song is basically about nothing. Don’t worry about history lol. The whole album is great, but I see why the title track became so popular. Vincent is a great song. The song would be so much better if it was half as long as it is. It just drags. It’s a super mediocre song that draaaaaaaags. I legitimately don’t know how it became the cultural fixture it’s become. Anything off of the Pixies first 3.5 albums. The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, Michael Jackson (not a huge fan personally, but he’s iconic), RHCP, Sturgill Simpson, My Morning Jacket, and The Killers.
